Book 2 of the Nightborn Duet.
My review of the first book can be found here.
If you like dark romance, enemies to lovers and vampires, then whatever you are currently reading, put it down and read this duet! I don't think I have to admit that I flew through over 5 hours of reading just last night because I couldn't put it down.
This 578 page dark fantasy (including the extra bonus chapter) does not slow down at any point. The traitors leave you speechless and the relationships leave you teary. Publisher Weekly says “Fans of dark romantasy won't want to miss this” and I couldn't agree more.
In my book one review, I mentioned that Oraya had to compete in a 3 month trial that makes the Hunger Games look like a day at daycare and that the end will shock you. Well, in book 2, the results and pushback from the outcome of the trials cause a tidal wave of events that threaten to ruin her.
There is a fair amount of well described violence that may not be suitable to all readers, as is mentioned in the first pages so please take note of that if you prefer a more light hearted book.
It is written from a back and forth pov of both Oraya and Rhaine, which I loved. I really enjoy books with multiple pov's in first person rather than from the third person pov. Although book 2 does close the story for Oraya and Rhaine, it leaves the door open for a few characters from the world within Obitraes to take center stage. I can't wait to read who it is.
This book had all the fantasy, flirtation, sexiness and sarcastic witty humour that I crave in everything I read. Like I said, put down what you're reading and pick this series up, you won't regret it!
