Foxglove Review

Foxglove by Adalyn Grace

Series: Belladona (Book 2)

Released on August 22, 2023

Pages: 449

I loved these two books and thoroughly love the characters. The writing, as I mentioned before in my review of book one, is so immersive that I felt like extending a pinky finger while drinking my tea when I was reading. My sentiment is stated much better by Kerri Maniscalco, NY Times bestselling author of the Kingdom of the Wicked series, when she said that this book is “Decadently atmospheric”.

That being said, I didn't feel the usual pull to start reading like I did with Nisha Tuli or Jaclyn Kot. This series is quite calm in comparison on all levels.

Maybe the calmness was a well timed bonus for me though because I enjoyed the plot immensely and loved the twist of fate at the end and really for someone who has always tried to solve a mystery before the answer is revealed, Adalyn surprised me in both books with the revelation of the murderer. I stayed up well past my bedtime to find out who the killer was last night….or more accurately this morning.

This book had 449 pages that switch between the pov of Signa Farrow and her cousin, Blythe Hawthorne and I do feel it ended in a way that leads me to think the next book is more about Blythe then it is about Signa. I guess we shall see. I can't wait to read it and am a new fan of the gothic romance genre.
